How to Use a Post Office: We bought post cards today. On the way back to the apartment we saw a Hellenic Post, so we decided to get some stamps. Easy, right? WRONG! We walk in, and there is a line, actually it is a bunch of people sitting in nice chairs waiting for the postal workers to call their number. So, now I am pissed because in the States my lazy butt has to stand in line. NOT FAIR! Anyway, against the wall is a stamp machine, so we walk over to it, and Cindy gets out a 5 Euro Bill to buy stamps. Somewhere tonight in Thessaloniki, there are postal workers drinking Tsipriou and laughing at the stupid American Women trying desperately to get stamps from a non-working machine. First, we tried placing the 5 Euro bill in every slot that looked like it would take paper money. I kept flashing back to the Play-Skool toy I had. You know, the one where you put the square in the square hole, etc. . . I was pretty damn good at that, at least I was last week, so I could not figure out why the money would not work. We kept trying, whispering to each other about the problem. Then we tried coinage. Still, no luck. In-the-meantime, we were watching a man walk around the post office mumbling to himself as he waited for his package. He was probably saying "Stupid Americans! The machine is broken."
